How to View and Use WHM Basic Setup (Server Configuration)?
The Basic WebHost Manager Setup page is where you configure essential reseller-level settings such as your nameservers, contact information, and server preferences. This should be one of the first things you configure when setting up your reseller account.
Access Basic WHM Setup
- Login to WHM.
- Go to Server Configuration → Basic WebHost Manager Setup.
Key Settings to Configure
| Setting | Description | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Contact Email | Email for system alerts and notifications | admin@yourdomain.com |
| Contact Name | Your company or personal name | SKPHost Support |
| Primary Nameserver | Your private ns1 nameserver | ns1.yourdomain.com |
| Secondary Nameserver | Your private ns2 nameserver | ns2.yourdomain.com |
| Resolvers | DNS resolvers the server uses for lookups | 8.8.8.8, 8.8.4.4 |
Steps to Update Basic Setup
- Fill in your contact email and name.
- Enter your private nameservers (ns1 and ns2).
- Leave other settings at default unless you have specific requirements.
- Click Save at the bottom of the page.
Important: Always set your private nameservers here BEFORE creating any client accounts. Accounts created before nameservers are set may have incorrect NS records in their DNS zones that need manual correction.
