How to Install WordPress Using Softaculous
Softaculous is a one-click auto-installer available in cPanel that lets you install WordPress and other popular CMS platforms within minutes.
SKPHost includes Softaculous on all wordpress hosting plans.
Before You Begin
- Your domain must be pointing to SKPHost nameservers.
- You should have an active hosting account with SKPHost.
Steps to Install WordPress
- Login to cPanel.
- In the Software section, click Softaculous Apps Installer.
- Search for WordPress or find it under the Blogs category.
- Click on WordPress and then click Install Now.
- Fill in the installation details:
- Choose Protocol: Select
https://(if you have an SSL certificate). - Choose Domain: Select the domain where you want WordPress installed.
- In Directory: Leave blank to install at the root (e.g., yourdomain.com), or enter a folder name.
- Site Name: Enter your website name.
- Site Description: A short tagline for your site.
- Admin Username: Set an admin username (avoid using "admin").
- Admin Password: Set a strong password.
- Admin Email: Enter your email address.
- Choose Protocol: Select
- Click Install.
After Installation
Once the installation is complete, Softaculous will show you:
- Your WordPress site URL
- Your WordPress Admin URL (e.g.,
yourdomain.com/wp-admin)
Login to your WordPress dashboard using the admin credentials you set during installation and start building your website.
Note: SKPHost recommends installing a security plugin like Wordfence after your WordPress installation for extra protection.
