How to Change the cPanel Theme for Client Accounts in WHM?

cPanel offers different visual themes (interfaces). As a reseller, you can set the default theme for new accounts and change the theme for existing accounts from WHM.

Set Default cPanel Theme for New Accounts

1. Login to WHM.
2. Go to Server Configuration → Basic WebHost Manager Setup.
3. Find the cPanel Default Theme setting.
4. Select the desired theme from the dropdown:
   • Jupiter – Modern, clean interface (current default)
   • Paper Lantern – Previous classic cPanel theme
5. Click Save.

Change Theme for an Existing Account

1. Login to the client's cPanel via WHM → List Accounts → cPanel icon.
2. In cPanel, click the client's username in the top right.
3. Go to Change Style.
4. Select the desired theme and click Apply.

Force a Specific Theme for All Accounts

1. Go to WHM → cPanel → Themes.
2. Set the default theme and optionally disable the ability for clients to change their own theme.

Note: The Jupiter theme is the current recommended cPanel theme as of cPanel version 106+. Paper Lantern is being phased out. Recommend all clients use Jupiter for the best experience and long-term support.
