How to Manage Parked (Alias) Domains in WHM?

A Parked Domain (also called an Alias Domain) points multiple domain names to the same website. For example, clientdomain.net and clientdomain.org both showing the same content as clientdomain.com.

Add a Parked Domain for a Client

Parked domains are managed from within the client's own cPanel, not from WHM directly:

  1. Login to the client's cPanel (via WHM → List Accounts → cPanel icon).
  2. Go to Domains → Aliases.
  3. Enter the domain to park (e.g., clientdomain.org).
  4. Click Add Domain.

Requirements for Parked Domains

  • The domain must already be registered.
  • The domain's nameservers must be pointed to your reseller nameservers.
  • The client's package must allow parked domains (check the Max Parked Domains setting in the package).

Viewing All Parked Domains via DNS Zones

  1. Go to WHM → DNS Functions → List DNS Zones.
  2. Parked domains appear in the list alongside primary domains.
  3. You can edit their DNS zones from here if needed.

Remove a Parked Domain

  1. Login to the client's cPanel.
  2. Go to Domains → Aliases.
  3. Find the parked domain and click Remove.

Tip: Parked domains are great for brand protection. Encourage clients who own multiple TLDs (.com, .net, .org, .in) to park them all on their main domain to prevent competitors from using similar domain names.
