How to Check Bandwidth Usage in cPanel?

Bandwidth refers to the amount of data transferred between your website and its visitors. Monitoring bandwidth usage helps you understand your traffic patterns and ensure you stay within your hosting plan's limits on SKPHost.

How to Check Bandwidth

  1. Login to cPanel.
  2. Under Metrics, click Bandwidth.
  3. You will see a monthly breakdown of bandwidth used by:
    • HTTP (web traffic)
    • FTP (file transfers)
    • SMTP / POP3 / IMAP (email)
  4. The bar chart shows usage per month for the past year.

Quick Bandwidth Summary

You can also see a quick bandwidth overview on the cPanel home page in the right-side Statistics panel, showing current month usage vs. your plan limit.

Tips to Reduce Bandwidth Usage

  • Enable GZIP compression to reduce file sizes sent to browsers.
  • Use a CDN (Content Delivery Network) like Cloudflare to offload traffic.
  • Optimize and compress images before uploading.
  • Enable browser caching via .htaccess to reduce repeat downloads.
  • Enable Hotlink Protection to prevent others from consuming your bandwidth.
