How to Configure Email Client Settings?

To access your SKPHost email account in an email client like Outlook, Thunderbird, Apple Mail, or on your mobile phone, you need to configure the correct incoming and outgoing mail server settings.

Recommended Settings (SSL/TLS – Secure)

  • Incoming Mail Server (IMAP):
    • Server: mail.yourdomain.com
    • Port: 993
    • Security: SSL/TLS
  • Incoming Mail Server (POP3):
    • Server: mail.yourdomain.com
    • Port: 995
    • Security: SSL/TLS
  • Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP):
    • Server: mail.yourdomain.com
    • Port: 465 (SSL) or 587 (STARTTLS)
    • Security: SSL/TLS or STARTTLS
    • Authentication: Required

IMAP vs POP3 – Which to Use?

  • IMAP (Recommended): Emails stay on the server. Access from multiple devices. Changes sync everywhere.
  • POP3: Downloads emails to your device and usually deletes them from the server. Good for single-device use.

Username and Password

Use your full email address as the username (e.g., info@yourdomain.com) and the password you set when creating the email account in cPanel.

Finding Auto-Config Settings

cPanel can generate automatic configuration files for Outlook and Thunderbird:

  1. Go to cPanel → Email → Email Accounts.
  2. Click Connect Devices next to your email account.
  3. Download the auto-config file for your email client.

Note: If you get an SSL certificate warning when setting up your email, use your server hostname instead of your domain name as the mail server address. Contact SKPHost Support for your exact server hostname.

If you continue to face issues, please open a create a request.
