How to Import Emails into cPanel Webmail?

If you are migrating from Gmail, Outlook, or another email provider to your SKPHost email account, you can import your existing emails directly into cPanel Webmail. Here are the most effective methods.

Method 1: Import via Roundcube (IMAP Migration)

  1. Go to cPanel → Email → Email Accounts.
  2. Click Check Email next to your account to open Webmail.
  3. Select Roundcube.
  4. Go to Settings → Migration (if available in your version).
  5. Enter your old email provider's IMAP credentials to pull messages in.

Method 2: Import via Email Client

The most reliable method is using Thunderbird or Outlook:

  1. Add both your old and new email accounts to your email client via IMAP.
  2. Select all emails in the old account's folders.
  3. Drag and drop them into the corresponding folders in your new account.
  4. The emails will upload to your SKPHost email account automatically.

Method 3: Import .mbox or .eml Files

  1. Export your emails from the old provider as .mbox (Thunderbird) or .eml files.
  2. In Roundcube, go to a folder and click Import Messages.
  3. Upload the .mbox file.

Tip: For large email migrations with thousands of emails, SKPHost Support can assist with server-side IMAP-to-IMAP migration tools.
