How to Install Joomla Using Softaculous in cPanel?
Joomla is a powerful, flexible open-source CMS used for building websites, blogs, e-commerce stores, and web applications. SKPHost includes Softaculous for one-click Joomla installation.
Before You Begin
- Your domain must point to SKPHost nameservers.
- Your hosting plan must support PHP 8.0+ and MySQL.
Steps to Install Joomla
- Login to cPanel → Software → Softaculous Apps Installer.
- Search for Joomla or find it under the Portal/CMS category.
- Click Install Now.
- Configure the installation:
- Choose Protocol:
https:// - Choose Domain: Select your domain.
- In Directory: Leave blank for root installation.
- Site Name: Your website name.
- Admin Username/Password/Email: Set your admin credentials.
- Database: Leave on auto (Softaculous creates it automatically).

Joomla will be installed within seconds. You will receive links to your site and admin panel (yourdomain.com/administrator).
First Steps After Installation
- Login to the Joomla backend at
yourdomain.com/administrator. - Install a template from the Joomla Extensions Directory.
- Enable a security extension like Admin Tools.
- Configure SEF (Search Engine Friendly) URLs in Global Configuration.
