How to Edit an Existing Hosting Package in WHM?

Editing a package in WHM lets you update resource limits and features for that plan. When you save the changes, all client accounts currently assigned to that package are automatically updated to the new limits.

Steps to Edit a Package

  1. Login to WHM.
  2. Go to Packages → Edit a Package.
  3. Select the package name from the dropdown.
  4. Click Edit.
  5. Modify the required fields:
    • Disk Space, Bandwidth, Email Accounts, Databases, Subdomains, etc.
    • Feature List assignment
  6. Click Save Changes.

Changes apply immediately to ALL accounts currently using this package. No need to manually update each account separately.

When to Edit a Package vs Create a New One

Situation Action
Increasing resources for all existing clients on a plan Edit the package
Creating a new tier (e.g., adding a "Gold" plan) Create new package
Changing features without affecting existing clients Create new package, migrate clients manually
Fixing a typo in package name Edit the package

Caution: If you reduce disk space on a package and existing clients are already using more than the new limit, they will immediately hit their disk quota and their website may stop working. Always check current usage before reducing limits.
