How to View Bandwidth Usage for All Client Accounts in WHM?

Monitoring bandwidth usage lets you identify which client accounts are consuming the most data and ensure no account exceeds its monthly limits.

View Bandwidth Usage

  1. Login to WHM.
  2. Go to Account Information → View Bandwidth Usage.
  3. Select the month you want to view from the dropdown.
  4. A table shows every account with:
    • Bytes transferred (HTTP, FTP, SMTP, POP3, IMAP)
    • Total combined bandwidth
    • Bandwidth limit
    • Percentage of limit used

Sort by Highest Bandwidth

Click the Total column header to sort accounts by bandwidth used. This instantly shows you which accounts are the biggest bandwidth consumers.

What to Do If an Account Approaches Its Limit

  • Warn the client via email before they exceed their limit.
  • Upgrade their package to one with higher bandwidth allocation.
  • Temporarily increase their bandwidth via WHM → Modify Account.
  • Investigate unusual spikes — high bandwidth may indicate a compromised account sending spam or a viral traffic surge.

Bandwidth Overage Handling

When a client exceeds their monthly bandwidth limit, cPanel typically suspends their website automatically with a "Bandwidth Limit Exceeded" notice until the next monthly reset or until you increase their limit manually.

Tip: Bandwidth resets on the 1st of each month. If a client hits their limit on the 28th, they only need to wait a few days before it automatically resets.
